Peter Harrison

The style of my furniture grew out of a desire to build without traditional woodworking joinery. This began as a method of making furniture, but quickly became integral to the composition and style of my work. I use three materials: Wood, Metal, and Concrete. Each has different characteristics that are suited for specific elements. The aesthetic nature of the elements long ago became more important than their convenience.

The Divergence table is an important piece in the continuing development of my furniture. Divergence uses an aluminum corner bracket to join the legs to the top. This is a moment where the mechanical joinery of my work has surpassed the complexity of traditional joinery. It represents a distinct step from my previous pieces while remaining true to my aesthetic vision.
